Why Organisations Come to Us

A common professional language for administration

Organisations come to the Institute for one of three reasons: because administrative capability is uneven across teams and no one has yet described what good looks like; because a group of capable administrators has no route to develop without leaving administration; or because a function is being restructured and its people need a common professional language quickly.

Workforce

Recognition for every team

Affiliate is open access — no formal qualifications, prior experience, or assessment — making it the natural tier for organisation-wide recognition of the administrative workforce, with the Essentials Foundation Programme as an optional pathway.

Development

Sponsored programme cohorts

Put a team, department, or cohort through the Certified Programmes — online across the published weeks, or as a face-to-face contact block of two to four days at your premises. Cohorts start every four weeks.

CPD

Recognised in-house CPD

In-house learning your organisation delivers can be recognised in advance by the Institute, so it qualifies as Structured CPD for your enrolled staff.

How CPD works

How It Works

Corporate administration, individual standards

Enrolment through a corporate arrangement changes who pays and how enrolment is administered — it never changes the admission standard. Every application for an assessed grade is assessed individually, by any of the three routes, against the IAM Professional Standards. Affiliate and Student admission is direct and immediate.

  • Staff may be enrolled at any tier or grade for which they qualify — Affiliate through to Senior Fellow
  • A nominated Corporate Coordinator manages enrolment and invoicing through the IAM Portal
  • Coordinators see aggregate compliance data only — individual CPD records remain personal to each member
  • Membership is personal and moves with the individual; joiners and leavers are administered simply
  • The Progression Matrix can be used within appraisal and talent processes to identify readiness for the next Career Stage
A typical corporate pathway: Affiliate recognition across the administrative workforce → the Essentials Foundation Programme for those entering the profession → admission to Associate, Member, Fellow, and Senior Fellow through Certified Programme cohorts, RPL, or the Experience-Assessed route → Active Retired pathways that retain senior expertise as mentors.
