How joining works

Step	What you do
1	Create your account at instam.org/membership/signup. Registration is free and takes a few minutes — you will confirm your email address and set up secure sign-in.
2	Choose your application from your account dashboard: an individual membership grade (Affiliate through to Senior Fellow), Corporate Membership for your organisation, recognition as an IAM Centre, or endorsement of your qualifications and courses.
3	Complete and submit through your account — upload your evidence, make the declarations, and pay any applicable fee. You can save a part-completed application and return to it at any time.
4	Get your decision within a published maximum period. You receive an acknowledgement the moment you submit. Affiliate and Subscriber admission is automatic on registration and payment; Student is decided within 5 working days, Associate within 7, and Member, Fellow, and Senior Fellow within 10 working days. Periods run from the working day after a complete application is received and stop while information is awaited. Once admitted, the same login gives you your CPD record, digital badge, member resources, and renewals.

Sign up at instam.org/membership/signup and sign in at instam.org/membership/login. The IAM Portal itself — your membership record, CPD log, Directory entry, documents, and tools in one place — opens when the Portal launches; you will be told as soon as it does — one secure account for applications, membership, CPD recording, and credentials.
