Centres & Endorsement

Two routes for organisations that teach. Become an IAM Recognised Centre to deliver the IAM Certified Programmes, specialised programmes, and CPD courses under the Institute’s name — and, as a Recognised Centre, have your own qualifications, courses, and events endorsed. Or, without recognition, have provision you already own endorsed by the Institute.

The Centre Recognition Scheme

Become an IAM Recognised Centre

Endorsement for Recognised Centres. Recognition and endorsement work together. A Recognised Centre may also have its own qualifications, courses, and events endorsed by the Institute, so that provision it already owns carries the IAM Endorsed Mark alongside the IAM programmes it delivers — and its learners on endorsed courses may register with the Institute and receive a co-badged eCertificate.

Around the world, universities, colleges, training providers, and employers have the local presence, languages, facilities, and teaching capability to bring the Certified Programmes to learners the Institute could never reach alone. Recognition is the Institute's independent confirmation that a centre has the governance, capability, personnel, and integrity to deliver named Certified Programmes to the Institute's standard.

Principle

One standard, one award

The division of responsibility is deliberate and absolute: the centre delivers; the Institute awards. Wherever a Certified Programme is delivered, it is the same programme, assessed to the same standard, leading to the same award.

Structure

Two tiers of recognition

Recognition is granted in two tiers — the centre itself, and Programme Approval for each Certified Programme it delivers — and maintained through ongoing, risk-based quality assurance, not granted once and forgotten.

Trust

The Recognised Centre Mark

Recognised Centres are licensed to use the Recognised Centre Mark, are listed on the public register, and give learners and employers confidence that the standard of the profession stands behind both programme and certificate.

  • Open to universities, colleges, training organisations, professional firms, and employers
  • International by design — jurisdiction-neutral requirements that operate anywhere
  • Recognition decisions made independently by the Recognition Panel, on the evidence
  • Proportionate monitoring — a small centre with a sound record is not burdened with the scrutiny of a large one
  • Published criteria, process, timescales, and fees; a public register of Recognised Centres

The Endorsement Scheme

Have your qualifications and courses endorsed

Endorsement is the reverse of centre recognition: the provision is yours, and it is the quality of that provision the Institute endorses. Under the IAM Qualifications and Courses Endorsement Scheme, qualifications and courses developed and owned by third parties are endorsed against the IAM Professional Standards.

For Providers

The Endorsement Mark

Endorsed provision carries the IAM Endorsement Mark and is named on the public register for the endorsement period — a clear, verifiable signal of alignment with the standards of the profession.

For Learners & Members

Structured CPD, automatically

Endorsed Qualifications and Endorsed Courses always qualify as Structured CPD under the IAM CPD Regulation — making your provision directly valuable to every IAM member's annual requirement.

Recognition is not endorsement. Centre recognition covers delivery of the Institute's own provision — the Certified Programmes, specialised programmes, and CPD courses; endorsement covers qualifications, courses, and events you own, whether or not you are a Recognised Centre. An organisation may hold both statuses concurrently. Providers seeking endorsement should contact endorsement@instam.org.

Why partner with the IAM

Six kinds of organisation, one professional standard

Partnering with the Institute means building on a published professional framework — the Standards, the Regulations, the learner protection, and the registers — with 111 years of professional standing behind every certificate.

Universities

For universities

Professional services run universities — registry, admissions, research support, faculty administration, estates. Recognition lets you deliver the IAM Certified Programmes, specialised programmes, and CPD courses to your own staff and your students, credential the professional-services career path, and use the Standards for job design, appraisal, and progression.

Institutes & colleges

For institutes and colleges

Add an internationally portable professional pathway to your provision: deliver the Certified Programmes as a Recognised Centre, or have your own qualifications endorsed against the IAM Professional Standards — both statuses can be held together.

Corporates

For corporates

Give your administrative workforce a common professional language: enrol staff at every grade, run sponsored cohorts at your premises, have in-house learning recognised for CPD, and use the Progression Matrix inside appraisal and talent processes.

Training centres

For training centres

The centre delivers; the Institute awards. Bring your teaching capability, local presence, and languages; the IAM brings the programmes, assessment, moderation, and the credential — with regionally banded fees that make recognition viable in every economy.

For governments and the public sector

Public administration is discharged under duties of probity, transparency, and accountability. The Standards give ministries, agencies, and local government a jurisdiction-neutral framework for capability, succession, and audit-ready administrative practice at scale.

NGOs & third sector

For NGOs and the third sector

Every IAM lesson, course, and programme is written to work unchanged in a nine-person charity and a listed group. Tiered fees, open-access Affiliate recognition, and licensed team learning make professional development achievable on third-sector budgets.
